One of the experiences I enjoy the most is jumping into a game knowing nothing about it. This allows you to be surprised from every point of view. Fobia pleasantly surprised me, because despite some round corners, the game pays indirect homage to the first Resident Evil in a brilliant way.

History of Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel

Roberto Leite Lopes wants to be an investigative journalist. On an online forum, he answers a call from a certain Stephanie who says that paranormal events are taking place in a certain hotel in the town of Treze Trilha. This is the St. Dinfna Hotel which was built over a mine. This is a mine where an incident caused the disappearance of about twenty miners in the 1920s.

Roberto conducts his little investigation without finding anything and without succeeding in contacting Stephanie. The day he decides to leave the hotel, a strange black hole appears in his bathroom and he loses consciousness.

When he wakes up, he is locked in his room and discovers a camera allowing him to bridge two realities: that of 1960 and that of 2009 (the game takes place in September 2009).

As he explores the hotel that has suddenly become destroyed and dilapidated, he will discover the history of a sect of fanatics and the horrific experiments they carried out in the name of the principle of free will. These events began in 1920 with the disappearance of Christopher, the foreman of the twenty missing miners.

Several eras

In addition to the protagonist of 2009 (Roberto), Fobia allows us to embody Christopher in the 20s, as well as a journalist in the 60s who were captured by the sect following his discoveries on it.

The prologue also takes place in 1960 where we learn of the atrocious end of the journalist. The majority of Fobia takes place in 2009 with interludes in 1920 to find out what really happened in this mine in 1920.

A tribute to Resident Evil

Fobia looks a lot like the first Resident Evil (if we replace the mansion with a hotel and the fixed cameras with a 1D nobody). There are a lot of puzzles and you will need to search every corner to find the many clues to solve the puzzles. You will have a lot of padlocks to open, doors to unlock, codes to use and need different items to progress (cutter to remove chains, crowbar to unjam elevator doors, etc.).

The elevator is also extremely important once repaired, as it allows access to otherwise inaccessible areas. At first it only has two floor buttons, but you will find the buttons missing to explore other floors.

As you progress, you will gain access to more and more rooms in this 8-story hotel.

Among the puzzles, there are many that are optional. I finished the game and realized how straight ahead I had passed several puzzles. For those who like to fully explore a game, it is really interesting to return to it afterwards.

A camera connecting realities

Fobia allows its protagonist to visit the hotel in 2009, but also in 1960. Thanks to a camera, it is possible to see what the hotel looked like in 1960, but also to interact between the two eras.

If a door is obstructed and it is impossible to open it, it may be possible to pass through in 1960 through a hole in the wall for example. A key not found in 2009 will possibly be recoverable in 1960 and so on. Several notes and codes can be found in this way by looking at the walls or paintings with the camera, because in 1960 the walls were not completely covered with wallpaper.

This mechanic is well used although sometimes it is funny. If desks or boxes are blocking a path (which one could easily bypass or move), often times one has to use the 1960 reality to get through.

Low amount of creatures

Although the game is very much about atmosphere and puzzles, you find a weapon after 1 or 2 hours of play. At this time, the hotel will house zombies and (pretty monstrous) spiders. Unfortunately, these are the only two different monster varieties. To spot the spiders, you will have to really pay attention and rely on the noise, because they hide on the walls and on the ceiling and if it jumps on you, you automatically lose health.

There are also three bosses to face during the game, but this is not the strong point of the game. It is not really possible to avoid the attacks and you have to shoot at the right time to stop the enemy in his tracks. momentum. We feel our “heavy” character when we have to fight.

Besides, like Resident Evil 3, Fobia has his “Nemesis” who appears several times and whose only way to survive is to sow him, because he is invincible at this stage.

An expandable inventory and chests

Managing your inventory is an important part of the game, as you can only carry a limited number of items. You will find backpacks, bags, etc. to increase the number of items you can carry.

Many puzzles require examining objects, modifying them or combining them. Do not hesitate to return an object in all directions.

There are safes all over the hotel that are all connected. These allow you to store surplus items. Return trips to these chests will be frequent to retrieve items needed to solve a puzzle. The same goes for saving. You can only save to clocks present in different places in the hotel.

To make it easier to deal with the monsters, there are improvement points hidden everywhere to improve our weapons and the camera.

Technical side

Although I tested the PS4 version, I found the textures to be very good as well as an excellent use of lighting effects. The green filter when using the camera or the flashes of our flashlight add a little stress since a monster can appear at any time. There are few characters that we meet in the game. These are not very detailed and rather dull like the butler at the beginning of the game. The design of the monsters is good, but nothing more.

In terms of noise, Fobia is hitting the bull’s eye. The voice acting is not perfect, but much better than my last game of its kind (Oxide Room 104). The scratching of spiders, the thunder, the sound of footsteps and the growl of monsters are an example of what creates a beautiful atmosphere and forces us to pay attention.

Verdict

Fobia – St. Dinfna Hotel is not a perfect game, but is extremely satisfying. The game relies above all on the atmosphere and the puzzles. Looks like the monsters were added without much thought. Without any guide, it will take you about ten hours to come to the end of the secret of St. Dinfna. If you like action games, you won’t find your pleasure here. On the other hand, if you love to explore a place to come to the end of all its secrets through puzzles and secret passages, Fobia will keep you spellbound.

This is enough to fuel the debate launched by the Minister of Justice, Vincent Van Quickenborne, on advertising for games and bets. In its latest annual report, the Gaming Commission included new data: player bets. Until then, we were only talking about what is called the GGR, that is to say the difference between what players have bet and what they have received in return. Basically what they lost. Now, there are also bets (initial bets plus replayed winnings), which better reflects what players are really playing, and therefore what they are willing to lose. And there, the numbers are quite different.

From 10 to 21 billion

In 2020, the latest figures given by the Commission, stakes with private gaming operators amounted to 18.74 billion euros. But there was the Covid. In 2019, the total stakes amounted to more than 21 billion. The sum is enormous. Especially if you compare it with the years before 2018, even if these are only estimates for those years. The amount circulating was 10 billion. We are therefore well above. Note that the figures from the National Lottery, which does not depend on the Gaming Commission, are not included here. In 2021, the Lottery’s turnover was 1.5 billion euros, relatively stable year-on-year.

Coming back to the private sector, if we do not yet know the figures for 2021, it is possible to estimate them, based on the tax revenues shared by the Regions. In 2021, we thus reach the total of 21.5 billion for the private gaming sector. More than in 2019.

The first sector in terms of stakes is that of casinos. In 2020, a total of 8.725 billion euros were bet there. Of this amount, 89% of bets were made online. Casino games are the most addictive. Online games are even more so. We are talking here about poker, which is very successful, or even roulette. These games have a repetitive side, we play against “the bank”, which we think we can beat and then there is the “payout”. The payout is what you get back on your bet. On online casino games, this payout exceeds 96%. In other words, 96% of the stakes are returned to the players in the form of winnings. The higher the payout, the more the player is pushed to play, of course.

Low taxation

In Belgium, we can afford such large payouts because the tax rate on the GGR (as a reminder, the “net” between what the players wagered and what they got back) is 11%, i.e. quite low. By comparison, this rate is 33% in the Netherlands. With a lower tax rate, it is possible to return more money to players through the payout. So much the better for these players, but we know that the higher the payout, the higher the risk of addiction.

It is also necessary to note the evolution between the online game and the offline game (in the physical casinos). In 2016 it was about half and half when it came to the GGR. In 2020, the share of online gambling reached 83%. Of course, 2020 was a special year, with theaters closing for several months, due to Covid. But the momentum was already set in motion. In 2019, the year before the Covid, online gaming already represented 63%. The Covid accelerated things.

Game rooms

Gambling halls, with total bets of 7.849 billion in 2020, come in second place in terms of bets. In 2019, we were well over 10 billion. The Covid has clearly benefited online gambling, which grew strongly between 2019 and 2020, while “physical” stakes were almost halved.

Online sports betting is also booming.

Online sports betting is also booming. – PhotoNews

The third most important sector is that of betting, mainly sports. In 2020, it represented 2.16 billion euros, down from 2018, the year of the football world cup with the Red Devils. In 2018, this sector had generated stakes of 2.57 billion. We’ll see if 2022 attracts bettors as much…

The betting sector is also important for operators because it can be a gateway for players, who will then be directed to casino or hall games.

In this sector too, we see a clear evolution towards digital gaming, especially in 2020, again due to Covid. What we also see is that the payout is much more interesting online than in “physical”. It reaches 90% online, compared to just over 77%. Where, in betting houses, even in bookstores, there is still social control, it is not the same when you play online, where you are alone.

With sports betting, there is also the fact of being able to play instantly, for example when players attend a football match.

As we have seen, the trend towards online gambling is heavy. But to return to the example of casinos, another phenomenon calls out. The GGR remains quite stable for physical gambling, with a drop in 2020 for the reasons we know, but between 2013 and 2020, the GGR is multiplied by 11 for online casino games.

Blast

This market, which could have remained stable, literally exploded. If the online market has also progressed in gaming rooms, we do not see the same transition from physical to virtual as for casinos.

This evolution of online gambling and the resulting explosion in stakes raises the question of advertising all the more acutely.

We see that the number of players banned from gambling (at their request or that of their family) continues to increase, but when someone is banned, it is already too late. It is before that it is necessary to act, whereas the number of players increases, in particular at the young people and that they bet always more (on average, the median salary of a Belgian each week!).

A massive new leak appears to have revealed a number of important GTA 6 details, including locations the game will cover and Online mode details.

After GTA 5 became one of the best-selling games of all time, it’s no surprise that the excitement around the next installment, GTA 6, is absolutely massive.

Fans have spent nearly a decade speculating where GTA 6 will take place and how Rockstar will innovate its open-world gaming formula.

During this period, we have seen a number of leaks appear. One of the things we recently learned was that GTA 4 protagonist Nico Bellic might be appearing in the next installment and the story will span decades.

And today, a major new leak appears to reveal details about GTA 6 locations, as well as what GTA Online will look like in the future.

GTA 5 featured three protagonists, will GTA 6 do the same?

In a Reddit post that has since been deleted, user “TestPattern5” shared a complete document filled with details (and potential spoilers) on GTA 6 in which we can notably find the biographies of a trio of main characters between which the players will be able to pass during the solo campaign.

According to this leak, the three playable characters will be as follows:

The leak goes on to explain that the story of these three characters will begin in South America with Ricardo, before taking them to Liberty State, Carcer City, Vice City, and Cottonmouth. Liberty State contains Liberty City, the setting for GTA 4, while Carcer City and Cottonmouth are locations taken from Rockstar’s Manhunt.

A handful of gameplay details were also mentioned in this leak, highlighting the unique characteristics each character will possess.

One of the most interesting is that Rose, as a police officer, is able to order responders to walk away from a crime scene she has created, helping them avoid a level of search.

Meanwhile, Ricardo and Casey can recruit members into their own criminal empires, with the former overseeing a South American cartel and the latter directing activities in Carcer and Liberty City.

Los Santos GTA
Rockstar Games

Rockstar should do even bigger and better with GTA 6 Online.

While these items, if accurate, will likely be the main parts of GTA 6, the side activities will also help make the world feel alive and real.

The leak mentions that players will be able to take part in:

While fans love the single-player content in every GTA, there’s no doubt that GTA Online has become Rockstar’s biggest revenue generator in recent years. So it’s no surprise that the leak hints at a big addition to GTA 6’s multiplayer mode.

The leak says players will be able to control four different characters, each with a different story and role in the world, as well as separate bank accounts and assets.

We have already written an article about this potential novelty of introducing playable characters in the Online mode. So head to our article if you want to know more.

There will also be live sporting events that players can bet on. These events will take place weekly and fans will also be able to “follow them live with their favorite streamers on Facebook, YouTube and Twitch.

Of course, everything we’ve mentioned here is purely speculative at this time, so take all of this information with a grain of salt.

However, now that GTA 6 is officially in development, we hope it won’t be too long before we get our first look at the game.

Before wishing you, dear readers, a good summer vacation, I suggest that you take a quick look at some headlines that will make the news this month of July and that seem set to give you a good and long hours to play between two swims and/or hikes.

Holiday console par excellence for its practical transportable side, the Switch should be found in a lot of suitcases. It will host the very nice reissues of Klonoa platform games from July 8 with the Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series compilation. Colorful world and non-stop action for the whole family will be there next week. Still on Switch, lovers of JRPG (Japanese role-playing games) will have plenty to do between the remaster of the excellent Live A Live which will be released on July 22 and the highly anticipated sequel to a benchmark of the genre: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 the week next (July 29).

More sedentary vacationers can always stay in the shade with their Playstation 4 or 5 or even their PC to embody an intrepid cat in the highly coveted and intriguing Stray which will be available on July 19 between two naps. Solving puzzles, confrontations and agility will be on the program of this game with velvet paws.

As for owners of Xbox One or Series X / S, they can always dream of Lewis Hamilton version Wish with the new official Formula 1 game F1 22, an opus that promises to be hypercomplete and even more polished visually.

See you soon, in the meantime play well, go out, enjoy!!!

Mothership is presented as a space exploration game mixing adventure and astronomy, the player embodies a space explorer who travels through the star systems of our galaxy in order to find other space refugees. Alongside this captivating and contemplative gaming experience, the developer from Valencia does not forget the educational dimension that stems from his approach: “we are developing StarMap, an educational version of the game’s spatial systems for museums and organizations educational.” Indeed, joystick in hand, the software is easy to learn and has many advantages for understanding, among other concepts, the rotation of planets and satellites. Head in the stars but with his feet on the ground, this could be the state of mind of Carlos who is looking for financial and institutional partners so that his project sees the light of day. Given the quality of his project, there is no doubt that he will attract the attention of informed investors.

Pic Geek Day in Aureilhan: immerse yourself in culture

from the world of imagination

The Pic Geek Day after a forced return last year to respond to the desire to meet again after 2 years of scarcity, returns this year this Saturday, July 2 on the ECLA space in Aureilhan. The team and the public fell in love with the park and the building, a superb space to offer many activities around the world of the Imaginary with a cinema room and a stage, an exhibition space on the media library and the provision of a 300 m² tent, i.e. more than 500 m² to offer the public many activities. This year, the Pyrénées Manga association is presenting, before the event, an exhibition around the heroes of the Japanese animation from the 1980s with, in particular, the “Boumm” exhibition by the artist Arnaud Figuéroa and, from Thursday 30 June, events were organized for primary school children around the animated film. The Pic Geek Day wants to show the diversity and dynamism of the digital worlds through numerous educational, fun and innovative initiatives. The festival welcomes professionals, mangakas and comic book authors, animated film directors, video game creators and associations with the program of interviews and conferences, initiation workshops, games and tournaments. This year, will be present at Pic Geek Day, Eric Tosti, director of the film “Terra Willy” and founder of TAT Production and Marilou, candidate of The Voice Kids. The very DNA of this special day is the sharing of these cultural universes through the promotion of educational workshops, meetings and a mix of audiences. The objective is to offer a family festival, accessible to all, free and intergenerational which mixes play, culture and new technologies.

Quiet, unassuming adventure games seem to be the police through which game developers share some of the darkest human emotions. Hindsight is an upcoming adventure/puzzle game developed by Joel McDonald and published by Annapurna Interactive. It’s about grief, memories, and looking back on your life, as the name suggests.

01

I was able to see Hindsight in a hands-on preview a while back, where I watched a gameplay snippet. The game follows a woman named Mary as she returns to her childhood home after the death of her mother. The player can view various moments in Mary’s life through “openings”, or small objects that provide a window into that era. Openings can be anything from a drop of water, a cloud or a flower.

Advertising

The openings overlap in memories, taking players on a kind of walk through Mary’s life and her interactions with her late mother. The openings can also be moved in order to unlock new memories. It’s a strictly linear experience, but the curiosity of the user will determine whether they unlock optional memories.

twenty-twenty

Speaking to McDonald and narrative designer Emma Kidwell, both said the game’s subject matter was inspired by real-life experiences. Kidwell told GamesBeat that she saw herself in Mary a lot, as well as games featuring adult women were becoming more mainstream in the industry.

One of Hindsight’s main emotional beats is complex grief. As McDonald said, one of the emotional pillars of the game is having to deal with “not always knowing your loved ones.” I also don’t see enough mother-daughter relationships in the games, so Hindsight’s story already interests me.

Of course, my only problem with what I’ve seen from Hindsight is the only problem I have with all games of this genre: getting the player to feel human emotions and empathize with the characters. , that’s great, but a game also needs to make an effort to engage. There’s a tipping point where a silent, minimalist adventure game just becomes uninteresting.

It would break my heart if the game flipped on this, as it looks so pretty and has some interesting core mechanics. But both Kidwell and McDonald have recognized that managing user engagement is a priority for them, so hopefully they can manage it.

Hindsight doesn’t have a release date yet, but is expected to launch on Switch, the App Store, and Steam.

That’s it, the EA touch is now very present in the F1 franchise since the new Codemasters game now bears the name of F1 22like the American giant’s other annual franchises (FIFA 22, Madden NFL 22). The question is therefore whether the marriage between the developer specializing in racing games and the studio known for its sports games has improved a fairly famous license. We give you our detailed and unfiltered opinion!

This test of the F1 22 game was carried out with a commercial version of the game via the early access of EA Play Pro, on PC.

Note that the author of this test is an avid player of Formula 1 games, having hundreds of hours on previous games. We will therefore avoid bothering you with a test that will complain about the lack of robustness of a single-seater…

New name, new regulations, same success?

For years, Codemasters has been at the top of the line in semi-realistic racing games. Indeed, the games of the official Formula 1 license are a clever mix of arcade and simulation. If you want to push your limits to the maximum, the game will be quite realistic and the AI will be merciless, while a beginner can easily take control of a single-seater. This balance, difficult to maintain, is one of the strengths of the franchise.

If the arrival of EA seemed to change a lot of things at first glance, this strength persists: F1 22 is still a racing game that is easy to learn but difficult to master, which explains its success. Driving continues to be very permissive with all the driving aids, which allows you to play it without any problem with a joystick, without however removing the driving sensations of a single-seater. Better, the technical aspect of Formula 1 and in particular its telemetry, are very present even for a beginner. Conversely, an experienced driver equipped with top-of-the-range equipment will be able to compete against professional esports drivers in various online events.

We are therefore very satisfied to see that year after year, Codemasters has managed to maintain this clever mix of arcade and simulation, to the delight of players.

The new cars are clearly the strong point of F1 22.

But the main novelty, the one which precisely risked calling this balance into question, concerns the arrival of new cars in the game. If you do not follow Formula 1, know that the 2022 season is crucial in the future of the sport since the regulations have completely changed, forcing teams to redesign cars from scratch.

These cars, which are very different from last season (both in terms of their look and their operation), are particularly well modeled on F1 22. Your driving must therefore adapt to these new vehicles, which brings a breath of fresh air to a franchise that was starting to go in circles. This change in the regulations therefore pushes you to relearn how to drive on the different circuits of the game, while the hierarchy has been shaken up at the level of the teams.

It is therefore easy to get caught up in the game of wanting to test each circuit with the new car, especially since a lot of changes have taken place on this point compared to last year. Indeed, in addition to the addition of the Miami circuit, tracks like Melbourne and Catalonia have evolved quite a bit. Without saying that we are on a whole new driving experience, these changes provide a real feeling of novelty, absent from previous opuses.

News on the FIA plan but still?

If the new regulations bring a real breath of fresh air to the game, it’s mainly because we’ve been going around in circles since F1 2020. Codemasters games have always maintained a fairly high standard in terms of quality, but new releases have been rather rare. However, F1 22 is not spared from this habit.

Let’s be clear, the only interest and the main difference between F1 2021 and F1 22 lies in the presence of the 2022 regulations. Off the track, it is difficult to separate the two games. For example, the career mode is very similar to the previous one, with menus that have only undergone a facelift. We will appreciate the presence of official Formula 1 commentators (in French version with Julien Febreau and Jacques Villeneuve) and the efforts made on the voice communication aspect in the race, but these points seem to be the only real novelties. Conversely, we lost a lot of immersion (apart from the new pre-grid and pit stop options) through the disappearance of cutscenes and interviews between races. Where games like NBA 2K have a real career mode with a lot of interaction with the world of the NBA and basketball in general, F1 22 has real efforts to make in this area.

Whereas last year we found that the mode breaking point (a scripted career mode) was a failed attempt to bring some immersiveness, it seems EA didn’t even try to improve this trial by simply removing this game mode.

On the other hand, the novelty of F1 22 lies in the part ” F1 life (F1 Life in English) which is supposed to give a persistent side to your adventures on the game. Concretely, we are talking about a place in the game where you can store your trophies, your cars (we are coming there) and your outfits. Be careful, we are far from a house in the GTA, rather expect a few rooms where you will not be able to navigate freely. We see the idea but the concept certainly seems more interesting on paper, especially when it is linked to an online store. Because the interest (for EA) of this novelty lies mainly in its direct link with the micro-transactions of the store, which sells clothes and furniture for your avatar in this “game mode”.

f1-22-formula-1-test-notice-note-1
Supercars don’t add much to the gaming experience.

The other novelty of F1 22 is the presence of supercars. These cars, which we are more used to driving on Forza Where Gran Turismo, are present in different game modes to remind players that the paddock stables don’t just make sugary drinks. We therefore suggest that you drive and collect models such as the McLaren 720S, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series or even a Ferrari F8 Tributo. Yes, the list does not dream and yet we have cited the best models.

If the concept of adding cars totally different from Formula 1 but linked to the world of Paddock (including the two Safety Car cars) is a very good idea, we find here again that the execution is quite average. In the end, it took us a few hours to get them all and we especially hope that this list is a first wave among a plethora of options to unlock during the year. In addition, the driving is correct without really being at the standard of the GT game references and the challenges are relatively uninteresting. In short, nothing transcendent and we bet that you will gladly pass the various tests in the career mode after a few hours of play.

What bothers us is that here again, EA and Codemasters have decided to add content to the game (supercars) but to the detriment of a previous element: the old Formula 1 cars. So, rather than offering us several experiences of driving, with old single-seater models, current cars, F2s and Supercars, we find ourselves in just-in-time conditions with an option withdrawn for a new entrant.

This habit of removing content to add something new, rather than improving the old (or maintaining it) while adding new, tends to frustrate us more than anything else. Especially since it’s a dangerous bet since the novelties have clearly not been up to par for a few opuses (here the Supercars, in 2021 breaking point). We expected a lot more from EA, especially given the first images of the game and the drastic change in style in the presentation of the title in the media.

A storm in sight for F1 23?

It’s obviously much too early to talk about F1 23 but the current trend is clearly not positive for this franchise in terms of novelties. If the heart of the game (driving, single-seaters, F1 license) is clearly successful, the rest is still very average. Another example, the customization in the game, although proclaimed loud and clear by the studio, remains quite basic: it is still impossible to change the face of your pilot, but you can now choose the color of your sofa in your studio. Worse, the lack of graphical improvements is increasingly felt, especially when compared to games like Gran Turismo 7 and Forza Horizon 5. Thus, the franchise must absolutely make progress in the years to come, otherwise its benchmark status in racing games will be strongly questioned.

In the meantime, F1 22 is taking full advantage of the renewal brought about by the 2022 regulations to satisfy fans of the genre. The latter will also be able to participate in the many online events that have also been the interest of the franchise for a few years. However, less frequent players will probably be disappointed with the lack of new features compared to last year. If this year is clearly special because of the presence of new cars, EA and Codemasters will not be able to hide behind that next year.

The results of the test

A good racing game but which only evolves through the changes on the cars.

EA will be able to thank the arrival of the new regulations which bring a real feeling of novelty to F1 22. If this opus is clearly interesting because of the new cars, the franchise has been resting a little too much on its laurels for a few years.

The strong points

  • A very faithful reproduction of the new F1 of the current season
  • A different behavior of cars, which pushes to learn to drive again
  • Easy handling even for beginners
  • The ability to gradually reduce steering assistance for a more real experience

  • Few new developments beyond the new FIA regulations
  • An immersion in career mode that is treading water

  • Online events linked to the F1 season

The weak spots

  • Few new developments beyond the new FIA regulations
  • An immersion in career mode that is treading water
  • Graphics that progress very little from year to year

After four high-intensity rounds, Nick Kyrgios had the last word against Stefanos Tsitsipas and qualified for the knockout stages of Wimbledon.

Nick Kyrgios rocked the Center Court! After a three-hour long fight, with blows often at the limit, the Australian won against Stefanos Tsitsipas, seeded number 4 at Wimbledon. A meeting that turned into a standoff from the start. Nick Kyrgios tried everything but, four times, the Greek dismissed the break points he had in front of him and was able to take his opponent to the decisive game . After having had the initiative throughout this first set, the 40th world saw it slipping from his fingers. Winning six of the last seven points, Stefanos Tsitsipas turned an unfavorable round in his favor.

The second set has long experienced the same scenario. Indeed, during seven games, the two players have never dropped more than two points on their respective commitments. Nick Kyrgios then thought he was reliving the end of the first set, missing another break point in the eighth game and seeing Stefanos Tsitsipas get his first. But, after dismissing it, the native of Canberra put the necessary thrust to make the difference and equalize at one set everywhere on the Greek’s service. At the end of this round, Nick Kyrgios discussed for long minutes because Stefanos Tsitsipas sent a ball into the public.

Kyrgios and Tsitsipas sometimes overstepped the mark

The Aussie then brought in the tournament supervisor to discuss the Greek’s possible disqualification. Palavers which were without consequences, Stefanos Tsitsipas only receiving a warning, and which did not take Nick Kyrgios out of the game. Indeed, if the two players were solid during the first three games, the fourth allowed the Australian to convert his second break point and lead four games to one. That’s when the match started to get tense. To conclude his service game, Stefanos Tsitsipas came up to the net and spiked the ball in the direction of Nick Kyrgios, who preferred not to argue. Not leaving the match, the 40th in the world took the lead on his first set point.

In the aftermath, the Australian saw four break points escape him in the first game of the fourth set. As the tiebreak approached, both players had the opportunity to take each other’s serve, Stefanos Tsitsipas even having a set point but they couldn’t escape the tiebreak. After erasing a late mini-break and saving a match point, the Greek missed a two-set equalizer everywhere. For Nick Kyrgios, the second opportunity to conclude was good under the liveliness of the Center Court (6-7, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 in 3h11 ‘). The Australian will find Brandon Nakashina, who scored Daniel Elahi Galan (6-4, 6-4, 6-1 in 1h53′) for a place in the quarter-finals.

Allen, Cheryl Anderson, Helen Lavretsky, Amanda M. Perak. Status of Cardiovascular Health in US Adults and Children Using the American Heart Association’s New “Life’s Essential 8” Metrics: Prevalence Estimates from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), 2013-2018. Circulation, 2022; DOI: 10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.122.060911

The Life’s Essential 8™ metrics are incorporated into the Association’s My Life Check tool to determine a cardiovascular health score based on eight essential components for ideal heart and brain health: diet, physical activity, nicotine exposure, sleep duration, body mass index, blood lipids, blood glucose and blood pressure. It is an updated algorithm from the scientifically proven Life’s Simple 7™, which did not include sleep heath. Life’s Essential 8™ also updated some of the previous version’s metrics to be more sensitive to differences among groups of people. In adults, overall cardiovascular health is calculated for each individual by summing the scores for each of the 8 metrics together and dividing the total by 8, to provide a Life’s Essential 8™ score ranging from 0-100. Thus, the highest or healthiest cardiovascular health score possible is 100. Overall scores below 50 indicate “low” cardiovascular health, 50-79 is considered “moderate” and scores of 80 and above indicate “high” cardiovascular health.

According to this first study using Life’s Essential 8™ as the measure for cardiovascular health, among more than 23,400 U.S. adults and children free of cardiovascular disease, the overall cardiovascular health of the U.S. population is well below ideal, with 80% of adults scoring at a low or moderate level. Researchers evaluated health information from the U.S. National Health and Nutrition Examination surveys in 2013-2018 that included more than 13,500 adults (ages 20-79 years) and nearly 9,900 children (ages 2 to 19 years).

The analysis found:

  • Life’s Essential 8™ aligns with Life’s Simple 7™, however, it was more sensitive to differences in cardiovascular health among groups of people and individuals.
  • The average cardiovascular health score based on Life’s Essential 8™ was 64.7 for U.S. adults and 65.5 for U.S. children. The children’s average took into consideration age-based modifications for metrics in diet, physical activity and BMI for children ages 2 through 19 years.
  • Only 0.45% of adults scored 100 on Life’s Essential 8™.
  • 19.6% of U.S. adults had high cardiovascular health; 62.5% moderate; and 17.9% low.
  • Adult women had higher average cardiovascular health scores, of 67, compared to men, with a score of 62.5.
  • In general, U.S. adults scored lowest in the areas of diet, physical activity and BMI.
  • Cardiovascular health scores were generally lower at older ages.
  • Individuals who identify as Non-Hispanic Asian Americans had a higher average cardiovascular health score than other racial/ethnic groups. Non-Hispanic White individuals had the second highest average cardiovascular health score, followed, in order, by Hispanic (other than Mexican), Mexican, and Non-Hispanic Black individuals.
  • Children’s diet scores were low, at an average of 40.6.
  • Adult sociodemographic groups varied notably in cardiovascular health scores for diet, nicotine exposure, blood glucose and blood pressure.

Hilarious creativity Animal Crossing: New Horizons cosplay sees a fan transform into a Nook Stop terminal and dance around happily. Nintendo’s social simulation games feature an entire community of anthropomorphic animals that could inspire some fan cosplay. A young animal crossing Fan’s Isabelle cosplay is a perfect example, but another fan recently revealed a much more unusual costume.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons sees players moving to a deserted island and tasks them with developing it into a bustling community. While the life simulation game initially only provides players with the bare necessities, such as a tent to live in, a variety of tools and resources help build the island village over time. One of the most essential elements of any village is the Resident Services building, which functions as a hub where Animal Crossing: New Horizons players go about their business. The building contains the Nook Stop, a computer terminal used to exchange Nook Miles currency and manage their loans. A recently redone player Animal Crossings’ Resident Services in Unreal Engine 5, and another fan has now physically turned into a Nook Stop.

Twitter user and talented cosplayer Pancho Lightsout recently shared a truly unique cosplay of a Nook Stop from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. These terminals are notorious for taking players’ hard-earned Nook Miles and Bells, but it’s hard to be mad at this particular terminal. Pancho Lightsout wears the Nook Stop on his upper body, with his face revealed through the screen, leaving his legs free to perform an adorable dance to live saxophone music. The animal crossing The cosplay was apparently worn at the Los Angeles Anime Expo 2022, which is being held in the City of Angels from July 1-4.

Pancho Lightsout’s Nook Stop is wildly imaginative animal crossing cosplay, with the crafty fan joining the ranks of other iconic cosplayers. A animal crossing Wilbur Dodo’s cosplay managed to achieve similar success in October 2021 due to its accuracy and authenticity to the in-game character. However, this cosplayer did not don a fake beak and feathers, but instead reimagined the cartoonish pilot as a real human being. Wilbur Dodo’s signature sunglasses, tie, uniform, and hairstyle make cosplay extremely accurate even if the cosplayer isn’t a bird.

Many animal crossing fans have cosplayed as the franchise’s anthropomorphic animal villagers, but Pancho Lightsout may be the first to cosplay as the Nook Stop. The memorable green terminal is an important part of the game’s community management system, so many fans will likely recognize the machine if they spot it at the Los Angeles Anime Expo. Pancho Lightsout can even dance from the terminal, making the happiest cosplayer Nook Stop fans will ever see.
